Hello, my name is Emily Brooke Harrington. I was due on February 7, 1999 but due to my mother having preeclampsia (toxemia) I was born three months early on November 7, 1998. I weighed in at a whopping one pound and one-half ounce and was eleven and one-fourth inches long. The picture above are my first footprints, tiny aren't they? My eyes were fused shut and I didn't get to see the world until November 26, 1998. I didn't breathe on my own until December 28, 1998. I tried to breath on my own earlier but didn't succeed. Below is my very first picture. Susan, one of my nurses is using her hand to show you how tiny I was. |

This picture was taken the first day that I was taken off the respirator. |
This is me finally getting to come home from the hospital. I had to stay in the hospital for 100 days. |
This is my preemie diaper, believe it or not this diaper was to big for me. The nurses used a cotton ball for my diaper. As you can see my diaper wasn't much bigger than one of my Uncle Stevie's ball cards. |
